Italian cheese sandwich
Why not enjoy a Italian-style cheese sandwich tonight? These delicious “Italian” cheese sandwiches are suitable as an evening snack or as an appetizer.
Ingredients (appetizer/snack for 4 people)
Olive oil
8 slices baguette
16 slices mozzarella
8 slices parma ham/Prosciutto (other types of dry-cured ham can be used)
Basil, dried or fresh
Rocket leaves to garnish
Preparation method
Heat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
Put olive oil on a plate/low bowl. Cut a baguette into slices and dip the top and bottom surface of each slice in the oil.
Put the baguette slices on a baking tray. Sprinkle with a little basil. Add parma ham and finish with one or two slices of fresh mozzarella.
Bake in the oven until cheese is melted and the bread looks crisp.
Put the sandwiches on a platter, and garnish with fresh rocket salad. Enjoy.
